“Life is about moments of impact…” Absolutely !!!

Watched The Vow this weekend and it was undoubtedly a tear-jerker! (surprisingly so!)

My favourite words, their vows… had me crying literally like 5-minutes into the movie, so sweet *sigh i’m a sucker

Anyways, apologies to my body… I’m sick-ish again. My colleagues pointed it out to me that I seem to get the flu/sniffles/cough quite often = TRUE. Need to sleep more, rest more, drink more fluids…yes.

Feels like life has been pretty jam-packed lately… so going to jot down a couple of awesome highlights:

- WVRST with Connie and May – Boo at the horrible host at the door, but the atmosphere was lively. Tried elk, bison, veal sausage :) Curryvurst! German beer, goodness! but $$$ LOVE: duck fat fries
- Fred’s Not Here for lunch with the girls <3, in love now with the lobster bisque :) lovely! Great Seafood pasta as well… It’s so funny, I thought I’ve never been at this restaurant before and little did I know – I HAVE! so this is encounter #2 and it definitely was a good one!
- Early Valentine’s day celebrations with KHC .. Dinner at Spencer’s At the Waterfront (elk burger and pickerel – SUPER good fish!) surprise at Bisque It for painting ceramics … Princess and her Frog (aka. Prince Charming!) teehee can’t wait to get these in a few days! *will post photos :)
- Cupcakes from the Cupcake Shoppe… sweet!
- Oh and Luxy night club to celebrate Ron and Julia’s birthday
- Dozen roses :) Red and Pink from mister… You are so sweet. thank you SO much for the lovely bouquet!
- Raptors vs. Lakers game at the ACC with Team Gatorade and friends :) WHAT AN AWESOME game… 92-94, we were so close to winning, super exciting finish. Had a 3-course meal at the ACC Restaurant, the food was SUPER DUPER good :)
- Looking forward to Family Day long weekend… teehee!

Resolutions & Highlights

Fact: I almost NEVER write here anymore
Fiction: I don’t have time.

So here I am… blogging after being away for far too long.
Sitting at my *new* desk – that’s almost a month old- munching on some roasted almonds and smelling the lovely vanilla bean scent coming from my holiday candle :) OH and enjoying a sip of my Alpine Punch tea from David’s Tea.. *soothing.

Anyway, here’s my list of new year’s resolutions (belated, but not really if we think about it from a Lunar New Year perspective) keke that’s still on-going…

1.) read a minimum of 6 novels before the end of the year (starting with The Book of Awesome, then Hunger Games, then Blink, etc. I have a line-up already!)

2.) keep in touch – friends, family, amigos, mates, etc. Be it snail mail, calling someone up for coffee one evening, or making the effort to touch base via email, I’ve been constantly reminded that our relationships with others is the most important (absolutely!) so I definitely want to make sure that I am giving the folks around me the love, care, and time that they give me

Ok.. I should have more on my list, but this is what I have so far, let’s make it an on-going list…

On a lighter note, my room is up and running… loving my shelves. You never know how much crap you have until you put it all out.

Still quite a bit of decorating to do, but all in good time!

oh and a couple of worthwhile mentions of “life lately…”

- Winterlicious at Trevor’s Kitchen and Bar = absolutely my new favourite restaurant in GTA ;)
- PepsiCo Marketing Conference held at Deer Hurst this year in Huntsville = 3-days of learning, connecting, celebrations, more to come on this later, but it was a smashing good time!
- Celebrating Lunar New Year at the office with Lion Dance and asian goodies :) nothing like spreading some cultural awareness with my fellow colleagues = congrats to my team for coordinating a superb event!
- High Tea with NW couple weeks ago was magnificent. Loved Windsor Arms Hotel! I’ll be back!
- Lots of hot yoga at Moksha Yoga.. Need to go more often, as I must confess I’ve had a few “Did you gain weight” comments from my relatives. *sigh… hahaha
- Celebrating MT/AL’s birthdays :) fun times, nothing like some glow-in-the-dark bowling and approval from my dearest friends that you found a “keeper” aww shucks AT
- Paintlounge, did I mention this already? If I didn’t, it was fun :) Painting on canvas for the first time with my boo.
- Looking forward to a snowboard/ski trip at the end of February with KHC’s family… Blue Mountain here we come!
- Also looking forward to trying out this German restaurant called Wurst with CH and MP this Friday, nothing says girls night out like beer and sausage, right? ;)

365 days flashback

I’m late, but better late than never to refresh my memory of some of the highlights / events of 2011 that were the most significant / memorable to me:

3-day Marketing Conference in Ottawa focusing on Courageous Marketing – Can’t wait for the next one in about two weeks in Huntsville
Watching my 1st Leafs and Raptors game LIVE
on March 18th I became a proud owner of my new car… the most “adult” thing I’ve done in my life (next to signing my life away when I got the offer for my full-time job!) but oh how sweet it was driving off the dealership lot thinking to myself … “my car is depreciating this very second…” HAHA
I got new glasses (!) this is important because my vision went down the drain (yay!).. *sarcasm
Shopping trip to Michigan :) (1st time!) and ate at White Castle, made my first designer bag purchase (Kate Spade) and bonded with some new friends!
Venturing to Webster’s Falls for the 1st time, who knew it would soon become date location #1 :)
Cherry Blossoms at High Park for the 1st time
I started to read again (leisurely!) this year, finishing three novels all by Emily Giffin
I officially became a part of the smart phone world with my Sony Ericsson Arc in May, which was destroyed on Space Mountain in October at Magic Kingdom
Isabella is born into the family :) welcome aboard my adorable cousin’s baby!
Teehee this is the year cupid struck me with his arrow and soon after KHC and I have been giddy ever since ;)
R.I.P grandpa… I miss the sight of you reading newspapers in the afternoon whenever we visit and your adorable smile. You are missed incredibly…

Now that I reflect on it.. it’s been quite an incredible year for many reasons :) Cheers to an even more unbelievable 2012.

Where I Left Off

28 | nothing too exciting in the daytime, but met up with high school friends for dinner at this vietnamese / thai restaurant called Mekong River :) (website: http://www.mekongriver.ca/) some interesting items on the menu, pho was quite YUM, mango salad was a huge portion for $6, they had this ‘crispy spinach’ chef special (really good, fantastic sesame sauce!) and the green curry was disappointing – we ventured off to Jack Astors for some red wine and good catch up
29 | SLEPT IN until noon! I think all I did today was hot yoga in the evening with CC. Felt so good after being MIA for 2-weeks.
30 | My dad and I assembled a coffee table for our new TV for the family room. How handy am I ? *not very haha oh and watched “What Happens In Vegas” with Ashton/Cameron quite good! I enjoyed it lots
31 | in the AM all my family did was prep for a huge NYE gathering with 50+ relatives. crazy chaotic with kids galore, but it was nice to spend the onset of a new year with family and KHC :) Cheers to a very merry new year… OH and I made Sangria for the first time! (forgot to take a photo!) it was super good! and we made guacamole too! yum yum

1 | First day of the new year and I spent it reconnecting with an old friend (KL love you to bits) wandered Vaughan Mills with her, gyro pita (my craving for greek food this holiday has been somewhat satisfied!), mango smoothie instead of starbucks! and then a short visit to hang out with the HC familia (watching G-Force!) :) and home to catch the final minutes of “The Proposal” how cute :*)
2 | Slept in again! oh dear… shopping at Sherway Gardens, gelato! and finally finally got my winter jacket at sporting life. *thrilled! im jumping for joy!!
